Three military officers from the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces were yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Steven Conteh of court No.1 on two counts charges of conspiracy and malicious damage.
They are SLA.1816 30651 Kargbo A, SLA 1816 8651 W.O Sembu Mako and 1817 2613 Bangura A.R charged together with Isatu Bangura for maliciously demolishing a toilet at No. 276 Bai Bureh Road.
The complainant, Rachael Koroma in her evidence in court said that while she was inside her house at 276 Bai Bureh Road on the 17th March 2009 she was informed by her brother Mamud Koroma that something strange was going on outside. She then came out to see what was going on and to her total surprise she saw about ten soldiers with hammers destroying her toilet while the 1st accused Isatu Bangura was standing by gazing at the demolishers. She further explained that she immediately called the Kissy police station but by the time a full truck load of police arrived at the scene the soldiers had left.
The police then went to the 1st accused and invited her for questioning in relation to the position of the toilet structure in question.
The defence lawyer then made an application for bail to be granted to all the accused persons. Bail was granted by the presiding magistrate in the sum of Le7 Million Leones.
