Three accused persons: Alieu Conteh, Emmanuel James and Augustine Swaray on Wednesday were acquitted and discharged at the Kenema High Court on insufficient evidence against them.
The matter was presided over by Justice Nyawo Maturi Jones.
State counsel Timothy Patrick Momoh Sowa told the court that the accused persons were charged to court for store breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916 of the Laws of Sierra Leone.
He alleged that the accused persons on 28 December 2003 broke and entered a store at Saint Kizoto Seminary at the Pastoral Centre along Dame Road in Kenema and stole 33 cartoons of aluminum pots of relief items valued at two millions two hundred and forty thousand Leones.
The items were in the custody of Rev. Fr. Joseph Bangura for safe keeping at the Seminary entrusted to the father by one Abu Bakar Turay of 13 Susu town Kenema.
