Twenty players and nine officials will leave the shores of Freetown today on board Kenya Airways for their crucial 2012 African Nations Cup qualifer against the defending champions Egypt on Sunday.
The players making the trip are:
Goalkeepers: Christian Caulker and Mohamed “Fish Ball” Kanu.
Defenders: Ibrahim Koroma, Gibrilla Woobay, Umaru Bangura, Ahmed Deen, Alpha Lansana, Salifu Samura and David Simbo.
Midfielders: Ibrahim Kargbo, Sheriff Suma, Abu Tommy, Rodney Strasser, Albert Jarret, Samuel Ballay, Mustapha Bangura and Pa Sallu Kamara.
Attackers: Kei Kamara, Mohamed Bangura, Sam Obi Metzger Jnr,
The officials are; Christian Cole, Prince Toe, Brima Dumbuya, Ibrahim Mansaray, Rashid Kabia, Umaru T. Bah – rep SLFA Executive, Hon. Mathew Sahr Nyuma, Benjamin Gordon and Abdul Rahman Swaray.
However, former skipper Mohamed Kallon has withdrawn from the team due to injury, and he stated “I have just returned from a two month injury spell and I am yet to return to full fitness.”
