The Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, has said that the technical team for the National Team has invited 27 home-based players with 5 foreign-based players for the Liberia match slated for Sunday August 14th at the Samuel K Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia.
The match will serve as preparation for both countries in preparation for the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifiers next month.
Leone Stars will host the African Champions, Egypt, in Freetown in September, whilst the Lone Stars of Liberia will travel to Harare to face Zimbabwe.
According to Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, the home-based players started training at the Football Academy on Monday and that the team is expected to depart for Liberia on Friday, August 12 with a 25-man delegation including 18 players and 7 officials.
The Liberia Football Association is responsible for the trip and also in charge of feeding, lodging, as well as internal transportation for the players in Monrovia.
The 27 home-based players include: Dauda Kanu, Foday Pizzaro Samura, Iya Musa Sesay, Mohamed Kanu -all of East End Lions; Morlai Sesay, Habib Sesay, Alfree Sanu, Ayo King, Muwaide Sesay and Desmond Wellington of Ports Authority; Alpha Lansana, Salieu Kamara, Idrissa Sesay from Mighty Blackpool; Gibrilla Fofonah, Salifu Samura and Ibrahim Kallay of FC Kallon; Mohamed Janneh and Yusifu Sillah from Bo Rangers; Alhassan Bangura and Paul Amara of Nepean Stars; Ibrahim Fofonah (IK) and Emerson Samba of Kamboi Eagles.
Mohamed Daddy Kamara, Ibrahim Canavaro Kamara Wusum Stars; Mohamed Medo Fornah of Freetown City FC; Munia Kanneh and Ishmail Colisee Turay of Diamond Stars.
The five foreign-based players include: Ibrahim ‘Marcel’ Koroma of Trelleborg FF, Ibrahim Teteh Bangura of Turkish Champion, Bursaspor, Mohamed ‘Poborsky’ Bangura of AIK Solna, Captain Ibrahim Obreh Kargbo of FC Baku and Sheriff Suma of Azerbaijanian club, FK Mugan, are all expected to be part of the delegation.
