Twenty-six workers of the Seaboard West Africa Limited were on Friday arraigned at the Freetown Magistrate Court No 1 on a three-count charge. According to the charge sheet, the 26 persons on 14 September 2007 conspired to commit felony.
The charge sheet also noted that on the same date the accused, together with other persons with intent to defraud the said company, conspired to defraud Sea Board West Africa Limited at Cline Town.
Court sources stressed that on the same date the accused allegedly stole 132 flour valued at Le11, 800, 80, which were the property of the Sea Board.
The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Oladipo Robin Mason, asked that the court subpoena the complaint, Alie Hussein Bazzy who was not in court, on the next adjourned date.
Lawyer Mohamed Sahid Sesay, who appeared for the accused persons, applied for bail for his clients. Magistrate Sam Margai granted the accused bail in the some of five million Leones each with one surety. The matter comes up today for hearing.
