About 25 professional and 30 home based players will be invited to Leone Stars for the matches ahead of the qualification of the African Nations Cup and World Cup respectively.
This was disclosed yesterday to Awoko Sports by the team manage of the national team Ahmed Sesay.
Team manage Sesay said all the 25 players had already been contacted in their respective clubs. He said the reason while they decided to invite these players this time around was that there would be reserves in the case of injuries.
He noted that all the invited players were now waiting for their tickets to come home and play for their country, adding that some of the players who had earlier refused to play for Leone Stars had agreed to come this time around.
Team Manager Sesay also mentioned that the team would be going to camp on May 8 in Lungi with 32 coach Obi Metzger as the technical adviser while Ahmed Kanu as caretaker coach.
He noted that before their first match with Equatorial Guinea Leone Stars should have played at least three friendlies to keep the team fit for that very important match away.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the government is doing everything possible to make sure that the team has the necessary resources for the match.
