Some two hundred young men and women have received passing out certificates after undergoing intensive security training under the Nation Wide Security Agency and Development Services (NAWSADS) in Kenema city.
The young men and women assembled at the Sierra Leone Police barracks field along Hangha road and marched through the main streets in the city up to Holy Rosary Secondary School Field along Dama road where the certification ceremony took place.
The Chairman of the ceremony Jaya Samuka, Deputy Provincial Secretary, thanked NAWSADS for engaging the energetic youths in the district adding that it was a big move in terms of peace in the country. He called on all and sundry to patronize NAWSADS so that more people will be recruited thereby helping to engage the youth meaningfully.
In his contribution the Brigade Commander of third infantry brigade in Kenema Lt. Col. Binneh Conteh called on the young men and women to meaningfully engage themselves according to their role and responsibility as stated in the national security Act of 2001.
He said all security forces must work together with the same aim to see that peace exists in the country which is a path way to development.
Other speakers at the ceremony were The Director of Training Rtd. Asst. Superintendent of Police Clarkson Momoh and Councillor Moriba Surbon Koroma.
