The Judiciary is in mourning as two household names of the Supreme Court – Justice Emile Thompson Davies and Justice Sydney Warne passed away during the last three days in the United Kingdom.
Until his death, Justice Sydney Warne was the Chairman of the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), while Justice Thompson-Davies went into retirement sometime ago.
Yesterday a book of condolence was opened in the Chief Justice office in respect of Justice Thompson-Davies. The event attracted colleagues from the bench and bar as well as relatives.
Both departed luminaries are ardent Christians.
It was further revealed that the late Justice Thompson-Davies will be buried in England, and a memorial service will be held at the St. George’s Cathedral where he was a member.
Family sources of the late Justice Warne disclosed yesterday that it is being anticipated that his mortal remains will be cremated in London and his ashes flown home for burial.
