The friendly matches between the Wusum Spikers Volleyball Club from Makeni and the Solar Spikers Volleyball Club from Freetown which lasted for two days ended on Saturday 3rd April 2021 at the Saint Francis Secondary School volleyball court in Makeni.
The Wusum Spikers female team won both friendly matches against the ladies of Solar Spikers on Friday 2nd April 2021 by two out of three sets, 2-1 at the Makama volleyball court, and on Saturday 3rd April with three straight wins in the best of five sets, 3-0 at the Saint Francis secondary school court.
Solar Spikers also won both friendly matches against Wusum Spikers by two out of three sets on Friday (2-1) at the Makama volleyball court, and on Saturday, by three in a best of five sets (3-2) at the Saint Francis school court.
“I am very impressed with the performances of both teams especially the female team which was established two years ago but today we can compete with any volleyball team that has existed for the last two decades. And for the male team we have learned our strength and weakness that will be addressed before the commencement of this year’s National Volleyball Championship,” the Wusum Spikers manager Simeon Kargbo noted.
