An encounter between armed personnel from the Port Loko Police Station and a group of youth in the Burreh Kasseh Cheifdom has left a 25 year old man dead with gun shot wounds.
Alpha Sesay a husband with two wives and four children and also a native of Gbom-Seel village in the Ronsene section was shot dead and abandoned in a nearby bush sometime last week following what has been referred to here as cross-fire encounter
The brawl started a couple of days ago, when the majority of the youths opted to embark on road maintenance and general cleaning exercises in their locality.
On the day in question, they organised a kind of wet feeding from the Section Chief- Pa Alimamy Kargbo and the Port Loko District Council Chairman JB Amara
The two people were conspicuously absent and the son of the Chief Alimamy Kargbo who doubles as a community teacher offered 7,000 Leones on behalf of his father.
According to him the money was rejected by the angry youths, who preferred to go on the rampage, snatching properties and destroying every sort of plantation.
This resulted in a fight between Alimamy Kargbo and one Hassan Sesay.
The two had been at logger-heads after Hassan was alleged to have impregnated Alimamy’s younger sister. Alimamy’s left ear was injured in the fight.
