A 19-year-old boy, Baimba Koroma has been sentenced to twelve months in prison for stealing cooking pots, DVD laptop and cash. The total value of all what he stole amounts to one million six hundred and eighty thousand Leones (Le 1,680,000). The allegation against him was that on 16th July 2019, he entered the house of Amadu Massaquoi and stole the said items. He appeared for the first time before Justice Alusine Sesay at the Siaka Stevens Street High Court in Freetown on Thursday 28th November 2019. There, he pleaded guilty to one count of House Breaking and Larceny. After his guilty plea, the State prosecutor Joseph A. K. Sesay urged the Judge to accept his plea and convict him. The defense counsel Cecelia Tucker pleaded for mercy on his behalf. Some of the items were found in the possession of the convict. The Judge ordered that he be sentenced to twelve months in the Correctional Center. The term he had already spent in custody will be considered as part of his sentence. The Judge further ordered that the items be returned to the owner.
