The ECOWAS Nutrition Plan, also states that partners should develop frank collaboration between different institutions in the agriculture and health sectors, adding that partners must seize the opportunity of the present food crisis to replace food and nutrition security in the centre of development, taking into consideration the different dimensions of poverty in order to achieve the millennium development goals. ECOWAS has taken advantage of its partnership agreements on policy harmonization to address the challenges of food and nutrition security, and also to examine the link between agriculture, health, and integration of information system for food security in West Africa.
