Sixteen teams will battle for the Sam Franklyn trophy in a tournament that will start on March 3 at the Wilberforce Barracks football field. It will end on June 20, and it will be organized by the Real Friends Social Club
Speaking to Awoko Sports Karifa Thoronka, the club’s secretary general, said “the club is genuine towards promoting a peaceful atmosphere in the surrounding communities.”
He noted that, “in the past we have been organizing football galas and other activities to promote young talents in the community.”
Thoronka mentioned that “in this particular league we are going to spot talents who will be representing the community in different competitions.”
He said since the formation of the club they had organized several successful football competitions.
The club’s secretary general said 17 players would be registered for each team during the competition, and that some of the teams that would be taking part were Allo FC, Kemo FC, Moko Town FC and a host of others in the community.
