A combined operation team from Eastern Police, Ross Road, Kissy Police and Waterloo Police Division converged at the Eastern Police Station to conduct raids on ghettos, cartels and other grey areas. These are prominent sites reported to have been places where youths and other members of the populace gather and take in harmful drugs, and subsequently resort to causing mayhem in the Freetown Municipality and its surroundings.
According to the Local Unit Commander of the Eastern Police Division, Nepor .S. Senesie, the concerns levied against those grey areas were incredibly enormous. The SLP, he further stated, as part of its corporate responsibilities, is relentlessly working towards curtailing the level of crime rate in the city. He mentioned that the SLP which is being referred to as “a force for good“ was not acquired by mistake taking into cognizance the effort the SLP has applied in combating the severity of crimes. He also added that the SLP will not, and will never aid and abeit any malpractices by citizens of this country that will result to political and civil unrest.
