Fifteen young journalists from Sierra Leone, Benin, Nigeria, Liberia, Mali, and Ghana have assembled in Ghana at the Ghana International Press Centre for a two-week training on reporting on regional integration in West Africa.
The training is being organized by the International Institute for Journalism  (IIJ)  of InWENT capacity building International, Germany.
In her welcome address to participants, Ms Alexandra Klawitter from IIJ said the aim of the training was to teach journalists about the benefits and dangers of regional integration: economy and policies.
She added that participants would also learn the history of regional integration in Africa.
At the end of the first day participants were taken on a tour of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial centre.
