14 year old John Sankoh, a pupil of Amnet Primary school in Lumley and also of Tarawallie Drive, Malama was found dead by drowning on Sunday May 23rd at the Lumley beach in Freetown. He had already written his National Primary School Examination (NPSE) awaiting result. He was said to be drifted by heavy sea wave and his body was later discovered floating in the same area of the sea where he was drowned. The remains have been handed over to his parents by the Police. The Director of Media and Public Relations, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ibrahim Samura advised parents to control their children and not to allow them to go to the beaches. ASP Samura stated that any child below the age of 18 unaccompanied by his or her parents to the beach will be dealt with.
Meanwhile Police are monitoring the activities at the beaches.
