Indiscriminate encroachment on both public and private lands in Bo has taken a new twist with opposing factions resulting into dreadful jungle justice as per ongoing police investigations
This worrisome development comes in the wake of recent suspension of fourteen (14) senior officers of the Lands Ministry for alleged dubious land transactions.According to police reports dated May 20th, a house under construction along Bo-Kenema highway was allegedly demolished by Albert Leigh who also claims ownership of the portion of land.
The owner of the demolished structure Sebatu Kamara said she is in possession of legal documents to prove that it was sold to her by the family who has since given statements to police of Bo Eastern Division. Sebatu Kamara in turn accused Albert Leigh to have taken the law into his hands and pleaded for an amicable resolution of the matter.
Suspect Albert Leigh is yet to make statement to the effect and that all efforts made to talk to Awoko have so far proven futile.
The former owners of the land have however confirmed that the land was bought by the complainant Sebatu Kamara but that she shares a boundary with Albert Leigh.
