The rampant rape cases in the country going unabated has left Bo residents in shock and disappointment after the unfortunate death of a thirteen year old girl was raped to death, by One Sheku Sandy who is now helping the Bo Police in their investigations.
The circumstances leading to the death of the thirteen year old at Sengema Village Bumpe Ngao Chiefdom in the Bo District the LCO Crime Officer Ibrahim Halladu told our Bo correspondent that the deceased is quoted to have told her mother Mamie Ndanema that she was raped by Sheku Sandy a circumstance that allegedly led to her death because they were all residents of the same house at the time of the crime.
Our correspondent managed to talk to the suspect Sheku Sandy behind bars who vehemently denied the allegation but said the deceased was sick and that he had been wrongly accused.
However there has been no independent confirmation as to how the crime was committed except that the accused had been previously accused of rape.
The recent death of the thirteen year old girl has since come under the spot light by various human right groups calling for Justice to take its course if ongoing related rape cases are to be minimized in the District.
Family Support Unit Commander Sento Bangura and other police personnel on the other hand have since called for an all out investigation on the alleged rape to death case. The deceased is at the Bo Government Hospital undergoing postmortem examination.
