A 12-man delegation is expected to depart the shores of Freetown today, to represent the Country in the third edition of the ECOWAS peace cycling tour for Mano River Union countries slated for Sunday 30th November 2008 in Conakry, Guinea.
The delegation comprises of 7 Cyclists and 5 Officials; the Cyclists are Captain Moses Sesay, Augustine Sesay, Alimamy Sesay, Saidu Mansaray, Mohamed Tolley, Unisa K Kargbo and the defending champion Shadrack Williams.
The Officials are Winston Crowther, the President and Leader of delegation, Elizabeth French, P Nicol, Solomon Collier and Bernard Turay.
The President of the Association, Winston Crowther said that the Sierra Leone Cycling Team has won the competition twice; in 2006 in Freetown and in Liberia in 2007.
In another development the Association has organized a press conference yesterday at the mixed flavor at Hannah benka-Coker Street in Freetown, were President Crowther highlighted the constraints faced by the Association. He then made an appeal for funding to enable them achieve their goal.
