10,000 People will be targeted in FOCUS 1000 COVID-19 Survey-KMN Coordinator

Sierra Leone-Freetown: As part of its two day survey on proper masking up and vaccination campaign, FOCUS 1000 intends to gauge public adherence to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The survey which started yesterday Monday 9th August, 2021 and will end today Tuesday 10th August, 2021 will target 10,000 people in 5 districts across the country, from 10 categories, each targeting 1,000 people through interviews, with a total of 2,000 respondents.

Members of the Kombra Media Network comprising of both electronic and print media journalists across the 5 districts will at their various points of data collection observe whether people are properly wearing the face mask or not.

According to the network coordinator, Kemo Cham data collectors will take note of all responses, including whether they have received two doses of the prescribed vaccines in-country or whether they have received one dose or never attempted to take the vaccine and why. He added that both public and private Institutions including hospitals, banks, market places and police stations will be targeted during the survey and the same prescribed questionnaire will be used to gauge people. Cham noted that the survey is being supported by FOCUS 1000, to compliment NaCOVERC work to bring down confirmed cases of COVID-19 rate down.
