The ‘1 Student 1 Radio’ campaign by the Adonis Abboud Trust Fund (AATF) which was launched on 26 April at the St Edwards Secondary School has continued its drive to provide radio sets to pupils nationwide. On Tuesday, 3O radios were presented to the Unique International Academy, in Kono.

Yesterday, AATF donated another set of radios to pupils at the Collegiate and Services Secondary School in Freetown.

She said the aim of giving them the radio is for them to be au fait with current affair. Adding, “it is not just about the academics but they must be able to understand more” about how the world operates. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for all what you’ve been doing for Collegiate and we are hoping that you will do more.

Delivering the radios the chairperson of the AATF, Honorary Chief Bambamoi Abboud said Collegiate is their school because it is just opposite his office. He explained that he is the co-founder of Pikin Bizness which takes care of sick kids and has saved the lives of over 38 children through surgical operations overseas.

The Principal of Services Secondary School Joseph Fayai also expressed profound appreciation that his school has been selected as one of the beneficiary schools nationwide. He appealled to the pupils to makes sure the radio is being used for its intended purpose.

AATF Project Coordinator Katimu Rogers explained that the beneficiary pupils are expected to give feedback at the end of every month on how listening to the radio has impacted their lives. OG/06/05/2021
