The Secretary General of the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) Victor BockarieFoh has said in Freetown that his party will win “in excess” of the 55% required to be declared president.
Foh was speaking in an interview in his office at the Brookfields headquarters of the party.
Answering the question whether he was in a position to say if the APC is winning the elections now, given that they have polling agents in all the polling stations around the country who must have reported to them, since that is what the party did in 2007, Victor Foh in his usual style we the journalists have got it wrong.
He went on “What did I say in 2007 I said the Secretary General who took the party from opposition … I told my people Makeni dance, Port Loko, Bo you can even dance, Sierra Leone dance, Mile 47 dance, 91 dance. I say from the figures so far collated, by the APC collation centre we have got the magic figure and that you can dance.”
Pressed further on whether he can say that now in 2012 Foh again said, “In 2012 things are better for us than they were in 2007, and if in 2007 we scored and won about 59 seats things are better for us.”
He explained that in 2007 they (APC) “went again to partnership with X-Y-Zee perhaps to get there. It appears – I would say it, but let me don’t say it now – but things are far better.”
Foh emphatically maintained “We are so strong that we don’t need anybody to partnership with us, and we are going right there.”
He stated, “We will definitely win in excess of the constitutional mandate of 55% required to declare the president duly re-elected. I am so sure because we have done a beautiful campaign. Our message was sharp, concise and to the point. We are getting there. Let us wait for NEC to announce the results”
