in Africa” The Professor urged
In an exclusive interview with the Professor in Freetown, he intimated Awoko that he is highly impressed by the commitment of
the government and people of Sierra Leone in implanting the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP).
He further stated that the maximum commitment demonstrated by African leaders in the fight against poverty is a reflection of

addressing the challenges of poverty and hunger.
Responding to a question on his expectations of Sierra Leone after the just concluded signing of the CAADP compact in the

He expressed hope that the international community will increase the financing of CAADP in particular and the agriculture
sector in general.
“Giving the very reformist path which this country has taken there is every hope that the international community will
respond positively with increased financing to support the defined priorities under the CAADP agenda” he concluded.
