Sierra Leonean Cyclist Augustine Sesay told Awoko that they are more than ready to represent the country in the coming international competitions.
Augustine said they are looking forward to Tour du Faso, the African Cycling Competition and Mano River Union Cycling tour, as they are the defending champions so it has more priority.
He stated that this year’s competition will start in Nigeria and ends in Ghana, which is expected to be tough as other countries from ECOWAS is expected to take part in the competition for the first time.
This will make the competition more competitive as Sierra Leone is the target and all of them want to defeat them because they have won the trophy three years consecutively.
We started training very early to be fit for all the competitions. He also mentioned that Tour du Faso will be their second time in such competition if all things go as planned.
In that competition last year, we were able to see more quality riders taking part even though the Sierra Leone delegation was not complete to participate in the competition we were still able to make in roads.
This competition will be a good test ground for us as part of our preparation for the other two competitions.
He is appealing to government and companies to come to their aid to assist the association so their dream will be achieved, he concluded
