“The team is gradually developing”-Amidu Karim

Old Edwardian’s head coach, Amidu Karim has said that his team is gradually developing in their style of play, when he spoke to the media last Monday, March 5th 2012 after his team’s defeat over Wusum Stars by a goal to nil in the ongoing Premier League at the National Stadium in Freetown.
He said after losing their first two games in the league, many football fans have ruled them out that they are going to be relegated. But according to him, things have now changed for the good as they were able to go to the drawing board to do their assignment very well and now the team is winning.
He said that his team’s performances have been improving and stated that the recent inclusion of Abu Kanu into the team has helped to boost the spirit of the team who are angry to win every match.
During the match, in early minutes of the second half, Usifu Bangura separated both side when he converted a penalty to into a goal thereby increasing the team win to 4 from 7 matches played, recording 13 points. The team is now in fourth position. For Wusum Stars, this is their 5th defeat in 8 matches played and they have now secured 9 points.
Ten minutes to the end of the encounter, Wusum Stars refused to continue with the match, even when the central referee beckoned to them several times to continue the match, but to no avail.
The League continues today Wednesday, March 7th 2012 in two venues. In Tongo playing field in Kenema, 11th placed Gem Stars will host 13th placed Freetown City FC, while on the same day at the National Stadium in Freetown, 7th placed FC Kallon will host 5th placed Central Parade.
