Thousands of supporters of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party on Wednesday 14th November gathered at a four-road SLPP-invented-square to see and listen to their flag bearer Retired Julius Maada.
The square that was invented at the spur of yesterday’s event, was constructed at the four roads meeting point of Fenton Road, Bojohn Street, Tuba Lane and Old Railway Line.
The party supporters filled every available space on Tuba Lane to Ngalu, with Mahei Boima and Sewa Road junction; also on the Fenton Road to Dambala Road Junction; Bojohn street towards the Sierra Leone Police Station West Division Bo.
On arrival from tours to the four Chiefdoms of Bargbo, Lugbu, Wondei and Jaiama Bongor at 18:15GMT, the retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio who was mesmerized by the jubilant throng of his supporters had few words to say but “Bo has spoken…and thank you Bo.” He went on to say that “what Bo has done today, no other person can do it like you do.” And therefore, he promised that “the confidence you have reposed in me, I must return after winning the November 17th Presidential Election.”
Almost repeating what he has said he will do in his first trip to Bo, he reiterated that he Maada Bio must be voted in as But this he said was due to “the fact the president has failed us,” going on to say that “…State House is not for failures. His Excellency he reclaimed “tells no truth concerning our education and even health.”
But should he win, he boasted that “Education will be first upon my winning.” And to confirm that, he started giving away books to his fans saying that: “President Koroma said you should play football and ride Honda but I am saying you should learn.”
In addition, he promised that should he win “I will fall hard on Wealth Builders.” He said that “what Wealth Builders did to the people of this nation was totally wrong…and the people I know need justice.”
Wealth Builders, he said “must be investigated and we will make sure that anyone who has eaten the people’s money must pay back.”
