The Assistant Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association Francis Samura has told Awoko sports that he and Elizabeth French will lift the Sierra Leone flag high when they will be officiating in the World Cricket League T20-Division 3 in Ghana slated for 23-28 February, 2011.
Samura stated that for the International Cricket Council(ICC) to appoint him to officiate in the tournament was not a surprise to him as during the training last year in South Africa he came first out of 26 of them from 19 countries.
He also stated that to officiate in such a programme was his dream and he is going to make use of this challenge given to him. Francis Samura also said he is going to work very close with his colleague Elizabeth French so that both of them can achieve their aims and objectives during the competition.
He revealed that Elizabeth French was able to succeed because she was very willing to learn that is why she was appointed by ICC to officiate in such a competition.
Francis Samura further stated that the association is now using the T20 league as a training ground for Elizabeth French who is officiating most of the matches so that she will have some taste of the competition.
He also mentioned that the T20 competition league is going on well at the Kingtom Oval with Hamid Shamun leading the table with 8 points from four matches played to be followed by Albert Hedd with four points while Sahr Bockay and Bradman both have two points each.
The competition will continue tomorrow at the Kingtom oval with all the four teams.
