The President of the Sierra Leone National Wrestling Association, Prince Sualley has told Awoko Sports that the performance of the wrestlers in the first Traditional Wrestling competition hosted in Togo has moved him.
He disclosed that he went to the competition with three wrestlers and a coach; but that one of the wrestlers assumed the fourth position. However, there was no medal for fourth position, whilst the other two wrestlers went to the third stage of the competition.
Sualley also mentioned that the Wrestling Association was formed three years ago; and that within this period 20 wrestlers have undergone intensive training.
He averred that out of the 20 wrestlers, about 4 of them have licenses from FILA which is the world governing wrestling body.
These licenses are similar to an insurance policy; wherein in any eventuality, FILA would come on board to assist those affected.
