The Executive Director of Leadership Empowerment and Development LEAD – Sierra Leone Donald Osman yesterday called on Government Officials, Civil Society Groups and Managers of the Private Sector to discover new leadership skills that will help to develop Sierra Leone.
He made these remarks at the official opening of a three days consultative forum of stake holders on excellence in leadership at the Light House Hotel Aberdeen Village in Freetown with the objective to mentor organizations in leadership principles, life skills and character formation that will enhance success in life.
Osman intimated participants on the need to transform positively on characters of competence, trust and influence with a passion in mind to move Sierra Leone towards excellent performance and sustainable development with systems and procedures.
He also noted that LEAD will be working closely with organizations in the area of strategic planning, management and leadership development, and further provides management audit and accountability with standard practice which will help in the development of the country.
The Executive Director expressed determination to develop, mentor, coach and empower younger leaders in employability and entrepreneurial skills, including working collaboratively with others, making informed decisions, setting and achieving goals, and assisting young entrepreneurs in accessing resources necessary to get them started in business as well as develop an existing business enterprise.
He promised to assist and provide consultancy services to non-profit organizations and charities in effective fund development principles and practices, adding that LEAD plans to assist and provide consultancy services to Christian agencies in effectively fulfilling their vision and mission.
LEAD is a catalyst in the raising up a generation of younger leaders who will promote and model the virtues of honesty, diligence, reliability, truthfulness, compassion, gentleness, courage and moral uprightness with a new sense of pride and confidence.
Dave Bidwell of LEAD- Global, John Stevkor, Frent Robbins and Mike Peable based in America all of whom formed part of the visiting delegation to participate in the leadership forum said, they want to take leadership to higher level to transform the lives of people with integrity, excellence, stewardship, character and partnership.
