The Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) has appealed to the leaders, officials, members and supporters of all political parties to respect the rights of others, and tolerate one another so that Sierra Leoneans can continue to live in peace.
The commission says that respecting and tolerating each other will enable the country to put all efforts and resources together for the development of Sierra Leone. It also reminds citizens to place Sierra Leone first before self.
In the same vein the PPRC extends thanks and appreciation to the National Electoral Commission (NEC) for efficiently and successfully organizing the parliamentary, presidential and run-off elections, and also the people of Sierra Leone for peacefully taking part in the electioneering process.
The commission also congratulates President Ernest Bai Koroma on his resounding victory in the just concluded runoff elections and also thanks outgone Vice President Solomon Berewa for honourably accepting the result of the election in good faith.
The commission expresses its gratitude and commends the UNDP, the United Kingdom, United States, the Sierra Leone Police, the Armed Forces, the media, both local and international observers and all those organizations and individuals who contributed in diverse ways towards the enhancement of the democratic process in Sierra Leone.
