Hon. Eric Jumu of Constituency 74 Central Bo has told Awoko “I am a stakeholder in the Sierra Leone Peoples Party and I will never leave it.” He made this statement at his Bo Town Njagboima residence during an interview with Awoko.
He explained that he was not coming into the Sierra Leone Peoples Party only now but that he has been in it ever since as a youth.
Jumu further stated that he was the Youth Leader in 1991 and since then he had made up his mind to be in the Party for life. Questioned whether he opted out of the race for the flag bearer of the party in the next coming elections due to money his reply was “No I love the party very much but I love the people of Sierra Leone more than any other thing and that is why I do not want any personal thing other than what is for the general good of all Sierra Leoneans”.
Money he went on was out of the question, the issue was more centered on personal things like the welfare of his family and the general good of the Sierra Leonean populace. He also stated that he left the race purely because of pressure from his family. His wife added: “I am very happy that my husband went out of it.” Questioned whether he gives his support to any of the candidates in the race at present he said “I love SLPP and the options are open”, he concluded.
