Pastor Magnus Bendu said yesterday in a press briefing at the New Life Ministries, COGIC International, at James International Complex, off Ross Road that every man on earth should be in the position to fan the flame of the gift of God in his/her life.
He based his teaching in the book of 2nd Timothy, 1 verse 7 which says “For God has not given the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” “The Spirit of power and sound mind can only be cultivated when you are able to fan the flame of the gift of God in your life” he said.
Pastor Bendu said in fanning the flames of gift of God, one should be careful of his/her association and advised participants to associate with optimistic people. “Youth look at your associates again and make a good option for they resolute your potential” he added.
He further advised participants to be in readiness to take up challenges because for every gift there is a test. “If you are ready to take up challenges and be in the position to capture first prospect there is no way you cannot make it in life” he continues.
Pastor Bendu further stretched his message on the book of 1st Corinthians 13 verse 13 which says “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
He said these three things highlighted by God should be focused especially faith which is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen. He further advised participants to come out of fear as it will make one become miserable. He said if one has fear then there is problem in Heaven.
“If you are a child of God you should have a sound mind as it is stated spirituality without intellectuality is emptiness and intellectuality without spirituality is blindness” pastor said. Pastor Bendu concluded by advising youths to forget about the past and pray to God for the way forward as God cannot change the past.
He said believers should be acquainted with who they are and whose they are.
