The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon Chukuma Johnson has said the Craig Bellamy academy was a blessing in disguise for Tombo.
He said the impression which the academy gives to Tombo is wonderful and the people of Tombo should take it very seriously because it has been recognized by the government. He further stated that this venture is a good thing for the people of Tombo and the youth especially noting that when they start the structure they are going to employ security officers to see that structure is up and they as the ruling party are happy as they have got investment for their youth. Hon Johnson said that they in Tombo are going to set the pace to handle the academy with care as the academy will bring development to the community.
He went further that development has taken place in the entire constituency apart from the academy as they are building five hundred houses in Waterloo and they are also building a cold room in Tombo and more development is coming to the community as time goes on.
He went further to appeal to the youths that they have to make Tombo, stating that nobody can develop Tombo for them though with his own help he too can do his best to develop the community.
He disclosed that he has good relationship with the youth and he always preaches President Koroma’s vision which is change of attitude. He mentioned that football is excellent in the community as it is not easy to organize football it needs a lot of money and if somebody comes with his money to invest in a place like this in about 6 months to one year time we are going to talk about different things.
He said the academy is going to take the best 60 boys in a row but the academy is not only going to focus on football but also on education so after your football career you are going to have something to do in the future.
He went further that this government’s plan for sports in this country is excellent.
He said since they took over as a government the standard of Leone Stars is mounting up because as a government they are paying attention to it.
He finally appealed to the stakeholders to vote for the right person if the game is to develop in the country.
