The head coach of Mighty Blackpool football club, Christian Cole who also doubles as the vice chairman of the coaches’ association in an interview with Awoko, yesterday at the National Stadium said they were going to win the championship and that nothing could stop them.
“We are currently leading the table with goal differences, and these are signs that we have the best attacking machine in the league that can score goals at anytime during play. We have six games left to end the league and five of these matches will be played at the National Stadium and one away,” he said
Continuing he maintained that, “as a team we are more than determined to win all the remaining matches… we are not going to lose a single match as most of our opponents do not have the technical ability to defeat my boys who are well focused.”
Coach Christian Cole appealed to referees to handle the remaining matches fairly as these matches would be determining the fate of the clubs as most of the matches were being affected by poor refereeing.
He recalled that their last match against Bo Rangers in Bo should have been a win for his boys but the referee who handled it deprived his boys by refusing to allow the goal they scored.
“If the referee had allowed that goal we should now be having 42 points to our credit out of the 20 games played,” he said adding that, “the teams that will be representing Sierra Leone in next year’s continental competitions will have sufficient time to prepare for the competition compared to the last two years”.
Coach Cole said their next match in the league should have been against Golden Dragons on Sunday at the National Stadium but had been postponed by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) because of the start of the Nations Cup in Ghana.
