The Chairman of Mercury International Samir Hassanyeh yesterday told the Wrestling delegation to Niger that they would continue their sponsorship with the association.
He made this statement after the team paid a farewell visit to his Rawdon street office in Freetown before departing for Niger. He said he was impressed with the association’s performance during the few days he met with them. After donating a two million Leones cheque to the association for the purchase of track suits which they will be using in Niger.
Responding to Samir Hassanyeh’s statement the president of the association Prince Suallay said he was happy for such statements from the Chairman of Mercury International as Mercury is a company that always promotes sports in the country.
He went further that as President of the association he and his executive members will do everything possible to maintain their relationship with Mercury International as they were the first company to come to their aid.
He said that the executive have done their own part it is now left with the wrestlers to perform during the competition which will start tomorrow, so that the donation of Mercury International will not go in vain and this will give them courage to do more for the association in terms of sponsorship.
