The head coach of Mount Aureol Galaxy Abu Sankoh has disclosed to Awoko Sports after the team’s first victory in the Premier League against Nepean Stars by 2 goals to nil (2-0) over the weekend at the National Stadium in Freetown that his team is far above relegation.
He added that his boys have now started to deliver the goods by scoring goals which was affecting the team in their previous matches and have now secured about 4 points to their credit after five matches played so far in the on going league
He also stated that if the boys can maintain their performance against Nepean Stars they are sure to win the remaining matches. He also mentioned that they were not able to win their past matches because the boys were not responding well to the formation they were taught during training.
He described the winning as a stepping stone for the team to press forward in the league and to avoid relegation as this particular winning has brought hope back to the team.
The head coach of Nepean Stars Alimamy Turay said that this is the first defeat they have suffered in the premier league to Mount Auroel Galaxy and they were going back to the drawing board to do their assignment for better performance.
In the other matches played on Saturday FC Kallon, after their goalless draw in the last match against Bo Rangers, came in very strong to defeat a less mature side Real Republicans by two goals to nil (2-1).
Real Republicans still lay bottom of the league with one point out of five matches played in the league they will play against Mount Auroel Galaxy in their next match.
Meanwhile in Kono Central Parade and the host Diamond Stars played to a goalless draw and in Magburaka playing field the match between East End Lions and Wusum Stars was called off according to information from Magburaka after supporters of Wusum stars entered the field after East End Lions scored the only goal during the match.
The league will continue this Thursday between Central Parade and Mighty Blackpool at the National Stadium in Freetown.
