The coach of Old Edwardians Amidu Koroma disclosed to Awoko that poor officiating affected the team not to secure all the three points against Golden Dragons on Sunday in Makeni.
He stated that the host Golden Dragons did everything possible to put the referee under pressure as they are fighting relegation and they were desperate to win all their remaining matches at home to have some chances not to be relegated.
Hamidu stated that if the game should have play in Magburaka it should have a different situation as they want to win at all cost
He stated that during the match Albert Kargbo accounted for Old Edwardians goal in the third minute of play and the host level the scored in the 43rd minute. During the second half of the game it was a different situation as the officiating referee from Bo did everything possible to protect the host Golden Dragons.
They have now secured 27 points from 22 matches played with 4 matches remaining. On Saturday they will host Nepean Stars of Bo at the National Stadium, a match they are going to win at all cost to send them to 30 points.
On Friday FC Kallon took the advantage of Lions slip up to extend their lead to 50 points when they defeated Bo Rangers by a lone goal at the National stadium. The goal was scored by Medo Milla in the first half of the match.
This particular win has placed them in a more secured position as their rival East End Lions failed to secure a point in Kenema.
The coach of FC Kallon Charlie Wright said that win was very important for the team but they are now focusing on the remaining matches as they want nine points from their four remaining matches.
The coach of Bo Rangers Mohamed Rogers said the loss to FC Kallon was hard to swallow as they have many chances but failed to make good use of them but their opponent only chance resulted to a goal.
Rogers said that they are going back home to prepare for their remaining matches and to make sure that they win them all.
When asked if they will be relegated he said they are above the relegation zone and they have a good side and they will never be relegated in Sierra Leone Premier League.
He stated that most of the matches they have lost is through bad officiating, “even in today’s match the goal scored has lots of controversies but the referee failed to spot them”
He appealed to the people of Bo to come on board to support the team so that they will stay in the premier league in years to come.
