Artists for Peace have scheduled a special performance of their ‘Go Vote! No Violence!’ tour today at the British Council hall, Tower Hill in Freetown.
The intention of the concert, which takes place at 5:30pm, the eve of the presidential run-off, is to instill among Sierra Leoneans a culture of non-violence during and after the election.
The non-partisan Artists for Peace are supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Sierra Leone’s National Communications Strategy Project.
The local artists have come together to promote non-violence before the August 11 polls, and have just completed a nationwide tour to encourage the public to conduct themselves peacefully during the presidential run-off.
